Relishing the last vestiges of the cooler weather (apparently this time next week will see heatwave conditions) by sharing some pictures of one of my favourite wintertime outfits in one of my favourite vintage-hunting venues, Camp Hill Antique Centre. I'm wearing a sumptuous spotted velvet burnout drop-waist midi dress with fluted sleeves from Veronika Maine with a vintage, handpainted cotton kimono that my younger brother purchased from an antique fair & gifted me for my birthday a few years ago, a pair of shiny black patent leather ankle boots with button detailing from Wittner, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty-warm & finally, a matte black leather shoulder bag from Pigeonhole to carry all the essentials.

In addition to a premium selection of antiques & vintage/kitsch collectibles from a variety of eras, Camp Hill Antique Centre's Tart Cafe also offers a multitude of cafe food options, including a delicious, spicy pumpkin soup with sourdough toast & chunky, beer battered potato wedges with sour cream & sweet chili sauce...

A Little Bit Disco

*

Pinafore: Veronika Maine sequins
Button-Down Shirt: Target cotton
Ankle Boots: Wittner patent leather
Bag: French Connection suede with silver hardware

*

The best way to make "sparkle" daytime appropriate is to pair it with something that has a casual or businesslike edge. Case in point: this amazing black sequinned drop-waist pinafore from Aussie label Veronika Maine that I've mixed with a blue & white striped cotton button-down shirt dotted with little black stars that I picked up from my local Target store for a bargain price. To complete the look, I added a pair of shiny black patent ankle boots from Wittner to elongate my frame & a boxy black suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection to carry all the essentials.

Winter Warmer

Dress: Veronika Maine polyblend
Duster Jacket: H&M chiffon/polyblend
Heels: Wittner leather, elastic
Bag: Pigeonhole leather
Necklace: Gift, Tree of Life silver, faceted beads

With wintertime temperatures finally upon us in Queensland, I'm looking back at one of my favourite cold-weather outfits from around this time last year. Worn for a weekday brunch at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown with my father, it's a deceptively simple ensemble of only 5 pieces that truly makes an impact. I'm wearing a navy & black floral polyblend (slightly rough/textured to the touch) trapeze midi dress from Aussie label Veronika Maine, florid chartreuse paisley printed chiffon/polyblend duster jacket - that was once a shirt dress - that I picked up for under $10 during a H&M sale, matte black leather pointy-toed heels with elastic straps for comfort from Wittner with matching leather shoulder bag from Pigeonhole & finally, a boho Indian silver & black faceted bead long necklace from Tree of Life, gifted to me by some dear friends.

Classic Combination

*

Dress: Veronika Maine jacquard
Heels: Wittner leather, woven
Clutch: Adorne lace, satin with wooden clasp
Bangles: Gift, silver (from India)

*

Sometimes, there's nothing better than the classic combination of black & white to truly make a statement with an outfit. Case in point: for a recent styling job, I wore a beautiful white & silver floral jacquard drop-waist dress with ruffled hemline from Veronika Maine with a pair of woven monochrome heels with ankle strap from Wittner & black lace clutch with wooden clasp that I picked up years ago now from the Adorne store that used to be at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown. When it came to jewellery, I layered up a stack of silver bangles that some dear friends gifted me from a recent trip to India, completing the look with some daytime sparkle & shine.
