One of my all-time favourite places to wile away a weekend morning is at French-Patisserie-style cafe franchise Passiontree Velvet, sharing a delicious meal with family & friends. This time, however, my mother & I decided to truly treat ourselves, enjoying a "Devonshire Tea" experience (not dissimilar to a High Tea) for something a little bit different... before hitting the shops for some retail therapy, of course...

For the occasion, I decided to wear the gorgeous monochrome embroidered floral silk/satin retro-style shift with "swishy" godet hemline from Mossman that I last wore on Good Friday with a light black mesh three-quarter-sleeved cardigan from a (now defunct) label called Leaf, tied at the front in a large bow to give a modicum of shape at the waistline, a pair of comfortable yet stylish black suede mules with a small heel from Wittner (ideal for the cooler weather we've been having) & shiny silver handbag from Forever New. When I came to jewellery, I decided to stay with shades of silver & black, wearing a chunky vintage wooden bangle with heavy embellishment that a dear friend brought back from India & a matching silver & onyx charm bracelet & ring from Pandora.

Finally sharing a few photographs from a recent afternoon spent fooling around on the soccer field at dusk with two of my favourite munchkins, wearing a funky candy-striped pink & white cotton smock with three-quarter-sleeves, v-neckline with bust tie detailing & high/low hemline from Aussie label Lee Mathews, comfortable white leather joggers from Wittner & a small white vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Forever New to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free to play.

Autumn seems to have finally arrived in the River City! Here I am, posing in the verdant grounds of the Brisbane Botanical Gardens with my back to the mighty Brisbane River, basking in the warmth of the sunshine on an otherwise cool morning after attending an event in the heart of the hustle & bustle. To suit the occasion, I'm wearing a gorgeous (if a little subdued) heavy printed blue, black & purple jacquard "wiggle" dress with cold shoulder detailing from Anthea Crawford, black laser cut leather heels from Wittner, indigo denim & black vinyl handbag with silver hardware from Nine West & a pair of chunky vintage silver bangles that a friend brought back from India especially for me.
