Finally sharing all of the gorgeous pictures of the ensemble that I styled up to attend last year's "The White Album Concert" which took The Beatles' seminal record from 1968 & saw it performed by Australian music artists including Phil Jamieson, Josh Pyke & Tim Rogers. As a big fan of the original "fab four" boys, I was ever-so-slightly nervous to hear new voices sing some of my favourite tunes such as "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" & "Blackbird," but instead I am happy to report that it was a joyful celebration of the music & lyrics & so respectful of the original renditions that I had an absolute blast!

For the occasion, I donned this stunning black, yellow & duck egg blue floral print organza tiered midi dress with ruffled collar from cult cool-girl Danish label Ganni, a pair of black leather chunky lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height & some edge against the sweetness of the dress silhouette & print & a black vinyl handbag from Sussan to carry all the essentials including the omnipresent face mask & hand sanitizer. When it came to jewellery, I chose a bohemian Indian silver multi-strand necklace with black twine fastening from my local Tree of Life store that fitted perfectly within the frock's v-shaped neckline, a chunky art deco wave style silver hinged bangle from the delightful ladies at Precious Stones Boutique (given as a present from my parents a few years ago) & a thin silver hinged bangle from Oxfam - yep, back when they had retail storefronts - that I wore to my high school formal quite a while ago now & that I completely adore to complete the look.

Sometimes, there's nothing better than wearing your favourite colour for a day out & about in town. I'm wearing this stunning emerald green dupione silk shell top & midi skirt with back split from a label called EveryBody that I picked up from St Paul's Op Shop (formerly known as Paddy's Market) for the princely sum of $4. Beautiful quality; just needed to be washed with a sweet-smelling laundry detergent & have the elastic in the waist tightened ever-so-slightly for it to look "a million bucks," as they say. When it came to styling, it chose light coloured accessories to render it more daytime appropriate in the form of a pair of stone leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height, a stone vinyl pouch bag from my local TK Maxx store to carry all the essentials & a long brown, stone & green semi precious stone beaded necklace with brass leaf pendant from the delightful Temptations Boutique at Winston Glades Shopping Centre to complete the look.

Keeping it simple & sweet for a morning spent enjoying one of my favourite places - the small, historical town of Rosewood with its multiple parks & beautiful main street full of boutiques, pubs, cafes & other buildings both old & new, including a state-of-the-art library. For the occasion (which may have included a piping hot coffee from a cafe & sugar-dusted twist donut from the bakery) I donned a beautiful blue & cream floral cotton button-down midi dress with elasticated waist & tie belt from Forever New, a pair of stone leather lace-up heels from Australian label Jo Mercer & a funky pouch bag from my local TK Maxx store to carry all the essentials including my face mask & hand sanitizer.

Avid readers of this blog will understand why bidding farewell to a not-so-stellar 2023 in a Little Black Dress seemed only fitting & I was excited to style it up to eat a few nibbles & watch the fireworks on television with some delightful company. The black satin midi slip dress was from my local Kmart store & was an absolute bargain at $25. Truth be told, I was happily surprised by its weight & quality & immediately set about adding accessories in the form of a pair of silver leather strappy heels from Jo Mercer for height, a silver mesh pouch bag from Australian designer Sacha Drake with chain strap for carrying any essentials & a shiny embossed silver cuff that was given to me by some dear friends a few years ago for that touch of "party" sparkle. Simple & pleasing - which is what I'm desperately hoping that 2024 will be, if I'm honest. Here's hoping that the new year brings new opportunities for love, growth, peace & understanding both in our personal lives & in the world.
