Well it's alright, riding around the breeze
Well it's alright, if you live the life you please
Well it's alright, doing the best you can
Well it's alright, as long as you lend a hand

Made like a Traveling Wilbury* & headed to the End of the Line Festival at Woolloongabba on Saturday with my younger brother in tow. The yearly event - comprising of musical acts, demonstrations from a number of social & sporting groups, eclectic cuisine from all manner of Food Trucks, handmade wares, retro fashion, antiques & other hipster ephemera - happily coincided with the popular Plantage Designer Markets (celebrating the fresh, young & young-at-heart) meaning there was EVEN MORE to look at than last year. In fact, if you'd like to take a little trip down "memory lane" & check out what we did & what I wore at last year's festival, click here to be redirected...

All done & up-to-date? Haven't missed a thing? Good.
Now for the details of this year's look...

The breezy, overcast Spring weather was a welcome change from the usual October temperatures & made choosing something to wear incredibly easy, allowing me to bust out my newest sartorial acquisition: this bright, entomologically-corrrect butterfly-printed cotton sateen dress from Anthea Crawford with wide, drop-shouldered sleeves, nipped in waist & just-below-the-knee hemline.

Rather than wear black accessories with such a vivid ensemble, I donned a pair of flesh-tone leather & elastic gladiator sandals with ankle buckles from Novo - adding a bit of edge without heaviness. What's more, they LOOKED fierce but felt COMFORTABLE, making them perfect for traversing the River City's bitumen streetscape. Check them out in detail below:

To work with the shoes, I carried a colour-blocked vinyl handbag - also from Anthea Crawford - that was a recent "gift with purchase." The pops of duck-egg-blue, navy & textured grey really worked with the hues of the dress to create cohesion.

When it came to jewellery, I decided to match the bag's hardware with a stunning rose gold & silver Guess watch that some dear friends gave me as a 30th birthday gift, delicate rose gold bangle held together with navy twine from my local Sportsgirl store ($3 on sale!) & chunky, vintage coated aluminum cuff with inlaid rainbow diamantes that another dear friend was kind enough to pass on to me years after she rocked it herself in the 1960s.

Well it's alright, even if they say you're wrong
Well it's alright, sometimes you gotta be strong
Well it's alright, as long as you've got somewhere to lay
Well it's alright, every day is Judgement Day

Well, now that all the fashion is out the way, scroll down to take a peek at how the day unfolded:

Sipping on Iced Chai Tea while listening to the live bands...

Chowing down on a hearty Spiced Pulled Pork Burger with Coleslaw & BBQ Sauce from one of the many appetising Food Trucks parked nearby...

* NOTE ABOUT THE TRAVELING WILBURYS: Regarded as a 1980s "supergroup," the band comprised of legends Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne & George Harrison. Tracks like The End of the Line, Handle with Care & Heading for the Light have long been spinning on my record player & are well worth a listen!
