Getting ready for the imminent arrival of a certain 6 year old boy & his baby brother in a bright blue cotton shift from Little Tienda (made in Mexico) with rainbow floral embroidery topped with a paisley, three-quarter-sleeved chiffon kimono from my local KMart store to ward off the sneaky coastal breeze. Comfortable leather gladiator flats from Hush Puppies were like heaven on my feet while an Ikat printed cross-body bag from the Coolangatta Ripcurl store allowed me to carry all the essentials while keeping both hands free for kiddie-wrangling...

More was definitely more when it came to jewellery, with a layered look consisting of a pair of Emmala by Emma wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms & tassels that I picked up from the Coolangatta Arts & Crafts Markets last September, a silver wrap bracelet with orange beads that Louise brought back from her latest trip to China & a chunky silver Guess watch from their new "androgynous" collection.

Braving the FREEZING water in a vivid hibiscus print one-piece from Autograph Fashion before covering the cossie in a long-line, black mesh tunic from Rockmans & finishing the look with a woven sunhat by Before Sunset, bought from a stall at last year's EKKA.

Dress: Vintage, 1990s cotton
Sandals: Hush Puppies leather gladiators
Bag: Rusty Australia @ Ripcurl vinyl & fabric
Scarf: Element cotton & bead
Beaded Bracelets with Charms: Emmala by Emma wood & silver (from the Coolangatta Arts & Crafts Markets)

Heading out for some fish & chips & calamari (Jeremy's favourite!) by the water in a vintage cotton midi-dress, trusty leather Hush Puppies gladiators, Rusty cross-body bag & striped cotton snood by Element with beaded fringing along one edge.

Jewellery was eclectic & stacked on, "arm party" style: this time a trio of beaded bracelets held together by a black ribbon (given to me as a gift by some dear friends), a pair of wooden beaded bracelets with charms & tassels from Emmala by Emma & a single shell piece bracelet from the Coolangatta Ripcurl store.

Braving the breeze for breakfast at McDonalds in a red cotton Mexican shift from Little Tienda with rainbow floral embroidery, chambray anorak from Aztec Rose (purchased from my local Trade Secret store), leather Hush Puppies gladiator flats & Ikat print cross-body bag from Ripcurl

** Just a side note: These Little Tienda dresses are AMAZING! They are authentically made in Mexico & hand-embroidered, so each one is unique & of superior quality. Owner Em is a fellow Brisbanite, so supporting her is helping an Australian small business to grow which in turn helps the artisans she employs to create these wonderful products. Lately, an unscrupulous individual has started a vendetta against her company, stealing Em & her talented photography team's (copyrighted!) images & passing them off as her own in order to sell an inferior product, so it's important that as many people as possible know about the REAL Little Tienda so they don't fall victim to this scam. If you want to check out Em's beautiful range, click here & make sure you only buy from the REAL DEAL.

Jewellery was piled on, just the way I like it: a vintage silver bangle with inlaid semi-precious stones in shades of red & blue, five blue beaded bracelets with silver & shell charms from Eb & Ive & a single strand made of cut-up shell pieces from Ripcurl for that "coastal vibe."

Can't resist a spot of shopping...

Proof that I can find a place to shop absolutely ANYWHERE! #shopaholic

Dress: Vintage, crushed cotton muu-muu
Anorak: Aztec Rose drill cotton
Sandals: Hush Puppies leather gladiators
Bag: Rusty Australia vinyl & fabric
Necklace: Gilbert's Tree wood
Beaded Bracelets: Gilbert's Tree wood

*

Taking advantage of a break in the wind & rain to play in a park "over the border" near the Tweed. This vintage floral crushed cotton muu-muu (purchased from America on Etsy) was long & heavy enough to provide SOME respite from the cold, particularly when mixed with a mustard drill cotton anorak from Aztec Rose - complete with (much needed) hood! Trusty leather Hush Puppies gladiator flats meant that I was light on my feet while the black & white tribal printed fabric & vinyl cross-body bag by Rusty meant that my hands were free to help Jeremy conquer his fears on the sky-high climbing frame. For once, jewellery was minimal - a matching blue wooden beaded necklace & bracelets that I picked up at a little shop called Gilbert's Tree at the local Centro Tweed.

Yep, it was THAT windy!

Making another McDonald's breakfast run in a hibiscus print cotton Aloha Republic muu-muu from the Woolloongabba Antique Centre, chambray anorak from Aztec Rose, clear glitter jelly sandals from Sportsgirl & trusty black & white tribal print cross-body bag from Ripcurl. The only jewellery required for this somewhat muted look was a chunky black resin & mother-of-pearl "Peace Sign" bracelet that I bought from a stall at the Southbank Markets more than 7 years ago!
