The Snuggle is Real

One of the best things about having a blog/freelance personal styling business is when I have the opportunity to collaborate with or champion friends who have their own small, handmade business ideas! Avid readers of this blog would recognise the tow-headed little tot in the pictures above from jaunts to Montville & Maleny & Mooloolaba (among others) but it's what he's holding - no, not the biscuit, the other thing - that I wanted to let you know all about... 

What is Snuggles with You?

Started by Aussie mothers Jen & Megan, the idea for The Original Snuggles with You formed when Jen once again had to stop her baby son from destroying printer-paper photographs of his deployed "military man" Daddy that she had lovingly taped to his cot & Megan was reminded of the many hours her daughter spent in Special Care Nursery as a newborn, denied for a brief period that precious early bonding time with family that even the most kind-hearted & conscientious nursing team cannot replace. Conscious of the fact that their own nursing careers would also entail spending long hours away from their children - much of it shift work - a solution was desperately needed...

More than a business idea conceived over coffee by two enterprising mothers on maternity leave, The Original Snuggles with You is an emotional "touchstone" for a child experiencing any form of separation anxiety; be it military deployment, hospital admission, relationship breakdown, bereavement, work relocation, overseas/interstate family members or the like. Each super-soft, handmade comforter creates a personal & constant acknowledgement & presence of a loved one for a child when exigent circumstances dictate that time apart is unavoidable. The chosen photograph is printed on cotton and sewn on, with the option of adding either teething beads or ring, taggies or knots for a personalised product unlike any other.
