Finally sharing all the outfit pictures from a morning spent exploring the Christmas displays at my local David Jones store before enjoying a leisurely brunch at perennial favourite Passiontree Velvet & catching a screening (my second!) of "Murder on the Orient Express" in Gold Class with my mother & shopping partner extraordinaire...
Here I am, pretending that I'm in a Winter Wonderland (rather than just in air conditioning to escape the humid nightmare outside that is the Queensland summer weather pattern) wearing a swishy celestial printed (sheer) silk chiffon midi dress with puffy elasticated sleeves, tie neckline & ruffles from Aussie designer Lee Mathews, black elastane slip from Taking Shape for modesty purposes, shiny silver leather flat brogues from Country Road (honestly the MOST COMFORTABLE shoes that I have ever worn in my life... really wanting a pair in every colour of the rainbow...) with matching silver leather crossbody bag, replete with repurposed strap detailing from boho brand Noosa Living.
When it came to jewellery, I took the opportunity to wear some of my best-loved items: a chunky silver & elastic hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & silver bracelet with blue & white "girl" cameo from Karen Walker, gifted to me a few years ago by a dear friend. Here I am, up close, in a forest of green fir & calico...
Scroll down to check out snippets from the rest of our morning...
It's a big call to make, but I'm doing it: Passiontree Velvet makes THE BEST smashed avocado on toast in Brisbane for the best price. It's so amazing that I could eat it every single day... probably best that I live thirty minutes away, then...
Gals in Gold Class...
Honestly, the second time around, I enjoyed "Murder on the Orient Express" just as much as the first, if not EVEN MORE. I think that it gave me a chance to focus on all the subtle little nuances that Agatha Christie wrote into her murder-mystery-masterpiece that Kenneth Branagh faithfully recreated (okay okay, except for that pesky little moment with shotgun) on the big screen, as well as things like scenery & costuming, both of which I absolutely adored, particularly the wardrobe of Daisy Ridley. Those 1930s/40s suits are just divine.
