Harking back to (slightly) warmer weather in this classic-with-a-twist ensemble that I wore to a styling job before meeting up with my father for our favourite lunchtime fare at Westfield Carindale's Shinobi Ramen... I would seriously eat there every single day if I could... Anyway, I'm posing away next to some inordinately large pot plants wearing a gorgeous embroidered mesh cold-shoulder dress with lace trim from Anthea Crawford (worn to my brother's wedding, as seen in this previous blog post), pink leather booties with ribbon laces from Jo Mercer to provide height & elongate my frame while remaining stable & comfortable for lots of walking around, woven straw "bucket" bag from Sportsgirl to carry all the essential & a pair of silver hinged bangles to complete the look - one chunky version in the shape of an art deco "wave" from Precious Stones Jewellers & the other, more delicate version from the sadly now defunct Oxfam Shop.

Heading out to an appointment at Westfield Carindale - followed by a delicious lunch at Shinobi Ramen & dessert at Le Bon Choix - wearing a gorgeous black satin-backed-crepe midi-length "wiggle" dress with ruffled hemline & burgundy lace cold-shoulder neckline from Anthea Crawford, edgy black leather heeled booties with thick laces from Jo Mercer & a burgundy vinyl handbag with chrome hardware from Nine West to carry all the essentials. When it came to jewellery, I decided to wear both of my divine new silver pieces from Precious Stones Jewellers like some kind of funky homage to Wonder Woman because, quite frankly, when you're dressing to impress, who else would you rather emulate?!

Orient Express

Dress: Trelise Cooper jacquard
Heels: Wittner leather

Bangle: Dinosaur Designs malachite
Ring: Dinosaur Designs malachite

So excited to share pictures of the ensemble I styled up to attend an appointment in Carindale last week, centering around this stunning oriental printed, heavy jacquard midi dress (reminiscent of the traditional Chinese cheongsam) with three dimension gold flower embellishment & black lace back detailing from celebrated Aussie designer Trelise Cooper, kindly gifted on my birthday by a dear friend & fellow fashionista. The length of the dress meant that tights weren't required despite the chill in the air, so I donned a pair of matte black leather pointy-toed heels from Wittner & carried a black vinyl crossbody bag from Forever New with gold hardware that matched the aforementioned embellishment on the dress. When it came to jewellery, I kept it simple in deference to the dress & wore a matching malachite resin bangle & ring from funky label Dinosaur Designs.

One of the best things about being a blogger is finding new & interesting places to take some photographs for the blog... like this playground in Carindale with the oversized metal plants & insects that gave me all kinds of 80s flashbacks to that ridiculous Rick Moranis movie, "Honey I Shrunk the Kids." I'm wearing a gorgeous black coated cotton fit-to-flare midi dress with silver 3D embellishment from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label at Myer, black satin mules with metallic silver heels from Wittner & metallic vinyl handbag from Forever New. When it came to jewellery, I wore a long, art-deco-style black faceted bead, silver bead & green murano glass heart bead vintage necklace (gifted to me by someone dear) & shiny silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop.

Keep scrolling for a little peek at the amazing Yum Cha that my father & I shared not long after these photographs were taken...
