Showtime!

Spent a wonderful Saturday morning immersed in the sights, sounds & smells of the annual Ipswich Show. The unpredictable Queensland weather ACTUALLY cooperated, serving up beautiful blue skies & balmy temperatures modulated by welcome breezes, ideal for wandering around the cultural exhibits including arts & crafts, knitting, patchwork, crochet, scrapbooking, photography, cooking, cake decoration, mini dioramas, ceramics & course work from local students; exploring the agricultural, historical, bee-keeping & animatronic Zoo Safari exhibits in the Lifestyle Pavillion; checking out the poultry (chickens, ducks, geese), birds (budgies, canaries, peach faces), farm animals (cattle, ponies, goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas) & Baby Animal Nursery with Mouse Circus; traversing the brightly-coloured games & rides of Sideshow Alley... & all this before watching the Ring Events from the Grandstand (showjumping, mini-trotters, motocross, camel races) while eating delicious fare from one of the many available food stalls... Phew! It really was a lot to see & do for the nominal entry price of $18.

Scroll down to see how the day unfolded, including what I wore...

Posing up a storm next to the giraffes in a gorgeous Autumn floral pattern-mixed neoprene midi dress from Asos (one of my all-time on-line favourites), comfortable black suede sandals with fringed heels from Novo, retro style tan suede semi-circular cross-body bag with fringed edge & stud detail from Sportsgirl & straw cloche hat with black lace trim from Morgan & Taylor at Myer. Bohemian jewellery pieces completed the look - a 1940s thick "twisted" brass bangle from America, purchased at the Frock Up Brisbane event a few years ago as well as a thin brushed brass bangle & oversized brass & onyx ring from Tree of Life

Show Day essentials... particularly loving the "Green Light" pressed juice from The Juice Lab - a refreshing, healthy mix of Pink Lady Apple, Goulburn Valley Pear, Cucumber, Lemon, Desert Lime & Ginger.
