So excited to share with you all the beautiful photographs of the stunning outfit I styled up to attend a performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's "Ruddigore" at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) recently. The darkly comedic opera tells the story of law-abiding, softly spoken gentleman farmer Robin Oakapple, who is slowly gaining enough courage to ask the beautiful Rose Maybud to marry him but harbours a dark secret: he is the heir to a terrible curse befalling all Baronets of Ruddigore & has been living in secret in hopes of escaping his fate. When his fate is discovered, however, he is bound to obey the witch's curse that dictates he must commit a dastardly crime each & every day... or face a torturous death... What will become of him? Can he win back the woman he loves & return to the life of blameless moral righteousness he craves? (You'll have to see it for yourself sometime to find out!)

But I digress.

Wanting to capture the whimsical, supernatural vibe of the opera, I donned a gorgeous emerald green satin fit-to-flare dress with faux midriff bodice & 3D beaded embellishment from Aussie brand Review & cropped black leather jacket from Portmans, pulled up a pair of rather racy black fishnet tights from Leona Edmiston Legs, slid my tootsies into a pair of pointy-toed leather & elastic strap heels from Wittner & carried a suede roll-down clutch full of all the essentials. Seeing as the dress had what I considered to be "built in" jewellery with the extensive bead work, I kept the accessories simple: a divine green jade beaded bracelet from a dealer called Wanfu in China, lovingly gifted to me for my birthday by my younger brother.

As a finishing touch, I couldn't resist adding this darling faux floral & velvet headpiece that I picked up from a little market stall at the recent Abbey Medieval Festival. Keep scrolling for a closer look...
