Avid readers of this blog will probably already know of my love for pattern mixing & I have to say, this particular combination is one of my all-time favourites... floral + tweed + stripes. Individually, these prints are both diverse & divine but together, they are an ABSOLUTE KNOCKOUT. Truth be told, I put this outfit together in about five minutes as I rushed out the door to an appointment & each of the hero pieces - the stunning, floral twill fit-to-flare dress from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label (exclusive to Myer) & black leather slingbacks with grey tweed toe caps & striped bow details from Wittner - are actually sale items that I picked up at bargain prices, but the compliments were flying thick & fast from strangers passing by as well as discerning Instagram scrollers, which just goes to show that sometimes things just seem to work together as if it was always meant to be that way. A bit histrionic when discussing fashion? Well, maybe, but this is a fashion blog after all. The final two pieces of this look are deliberately low-key in colour & style to allow the aforementioned items to shine but still deserve a mention for their "best supporting" roles - my trusty black leather handbag from Pigeonhole & a pair of funky, black resin round-frame sunglasses from Aussie fashion stalwart Sportsgirl... very John Lennon circa 1969 or even Johnny Depp plays Willy Wonka if you are so inclined...
