When the weather gets cooler, there's nothing that I enjoy more than heading out into the great outdoors for some adventures in the fresh air. Case in point: this recent trip to Walkabout Creek with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins. Nestled in the D'Aguilar National Park, we spent our time checking out the animals that call the Wildlife Centre home, digging for buried fossils (replicas of those found in Queensland) in Brisbane Forest Park & traversing the many scenic walks around the Enoggera Reservoir in the crisp morning air.

For the occasion, I wore one of my favourite late-summertime, pleated cotton, kaftan-style midi dresses with voluminous sleeves & tiered handkerchief hemline in a divine shade of natural fawn from bohemian-inspired Aussie label Zimmermann, winterised with a host of black accessories - a chunky, knitted wool snood from the Orange Sherbet boutique in Redcliffe, black leather ankle boots with silver zippers from Renee Loves Frances, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty-warm & a nylon crossbody bag with vinyl strap from Nautica to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free. Jewellery was kept to a minimum - a pair of mixed metal, brass & silver studded bangles from my local Tree of Life store that I've probably had for ten years or so but are still going strong.
