In recent weeks, I've been really loving all different shades of navy & blue mixed with the traditional wintertime black... a feeling clearly evidenced by this particular ensemble, styled up to attend a recent screening of Danny Boyle's movie masterpiece, "Yesterday." I'm posing by the front door wearing the stunning Fall for the Fringe dress from Aussie label Carla Zampatti in blue with extreme black fringing at the neckline, an avant garde cropped indigo denim jacket from designer Bianca Spender (coincidentally Carla's daughter), black suede heels with elastic "ballet" strap detailing from Wittner, boxy black suede handbag with silver hardware from French Connection to carry all the essentials & finally, a pair of oversized, handmade & handpainted ceramic cocktail rings - one in the shape of a circle, one in the of a heart - from Studio Leanne, one of my best Etsy finds.

& my verdict on the film...

As a massive fan of The Beatles, I was excited to see "Yesterday," the fantastical tale of a struggling singer/songwriter who wakes up after a global blackout to find that he is the only one who can remember the Fab Four's music & becomes an overnight sensation singing all of their biggest toe-tapping hit songs & I have to admit that I wasn't disappointed & in fact, left the theatre smiling from ear to ear & humming to myself. Some critics have savaged Richard Curtis' screenplay for its perceived "plot holes & lapses in logic" but aside from a rather confusing & somewhat off-putting scene involving a non-dead, non-famous John Lennon (sorry for the spoiler alert, by the way) I didn't really mind as to be honest, it's not actually ABOUT John, Paul, George & Ringo after all. See the film... you'll see what I mean...
