Wearing vibrant red & feeling "in the mood" to hear the divine sounds of the Glenn Miller Orchestra as they once again journey to the Land Down Under for another utterly transcendent performance in Brisbane. Formed by American trombonist Glenn Miller in 1938, it is still the most sought-after "big band" in the world today, courtesy of its unique blend of jazz & swing-dance, bass riffs, dueling saxophone arrangements & patriotic fervor... long after the tragic disappearance of its founder on December 15, 1944 while flying over the English Channel towards the end of World War II. As it stands, I have been privileged enough to have seen the outfit perform at least four times & look forward to doing so again in the future. Once is just never enough, particularly for a die-hard Miller fan such as myself.

For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous crepe dress with deep v-neckline, fluted sleeves & bow embellishment on the shoulders as well as a slightly-below-the-knee hemline in a stunning shade of "fire engine red" from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, shiny black patent ankle boots with pointy-toes from Wittner, retro-inspired red patent leather handbag with black bow & chrome hardware from Sourpuss via Poison Arrow Clothing (gifted to me on my birthday by some dear friends), a pair of vintage silver bangles from India & finally, a handmade ceramic cocktail ring in the shape of an oversized heart from the lovely Studio Leanne that I discovered on Etsy just before my brother's wedding earlier in the year & keep returning to for unforgettable, statement-making jewellery pieces.
