Finally sharing all of the hilarious pictures from an evening spent enjoying all the fun, frivolity & community spirit at the recent Silkstone Under the Stars event (akin to a traditional school fete but bigger & better & held at twilight) with family including my cousin & her two rambunctious boys as well as my best friend of many years & her two exuberant sons. The local primary school came alive with lights, music, entertainment including a live band churning out hits including a personal favourite of mine, "Harper Valley PTA" & student choir & cultural performances, food trucks with a variety of tasty fare including utterly mouth-watering calamari, sideshow stalls including the "$1 Jar Lucky Dip," "Rubber Duckie Fishing," silent auction, cake decoration, baby animal nursery, PCYC gymnastics obstacle course for all those who feel inspired by "Australian Ninja Warrior" & even a Dunk Tank! As if that wasn't already enough, as the sun set, the Night Markets really amped up with all manner of goods from superhero costumes to macrame plant holders & both the young & young-at-heart continued to test their mettle on six carnival rides before watching the fireworks spectacular!

For the event, I'm wearing a gorgeous blue & pink floral twill fit-to-flare dress from celebrated Aussie designer Anthea Crawford with a pink knitted capelet that I picked up from a market stall at The Strand Coolangatta while on holidays a few years ago, pink leather & calf-hair brogues with painted black "evil eyes" dotted all over them from Rollie via Milu Boutique in Fortitude Valley, black vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Urban Originals via TK Maxx to hold all the essentials while keeping my hands free to explore, eat & help wrangle small, excitable children & finally, a silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop to complete the look & add a touch of shine.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
