Marcus Visits the Colonies: A Wardrobe Edit (Part 2)

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky
Keep great and small on the endless round

It's the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair & hope
Through faith & love
Til we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Enjoying a performance of The Lion King Musical was the name of the game for Day 2. For me, it was more of a celebration of the music by Elton John & Tim Rice than a live-action recreation of the 1994 Disney animated film. Could I "feel the love" for the production? Of course I could - it was simply stunning, from the puppetry & special effects to the uniquely stylised costumes to the professional singing talents of the entire cast!

With a safari theme in mind, I decided on a Liz Jordan silver leopard print dress in comfortable elastane, matched with a pair of pewter suede & silver glitter peeptoe platform heels that Marcus quickly dubbed my "Cinderella" shoes & a pewter suede box clutch.

As for the jewellery, mixed metals were the way to go for a visually interesting result: a chunky, woven chrome bangle on one forearm, a silver hinged bangle on the other & a faux pearl cocktail ring for a juxtaposition of textures.

Stayed tuned for the FINAL installment of Marcus' adventures in the colonies...
Coming soon!
