Finally posting all of the ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS pictures from a recent Thursday spent enjoying all things festive with my best friend Belinda & her 2 gorgeous boys! After a morning spent shopping for the perfect stocking fillers, it was "all hands on deck" as we helped a very excited small boy prepare for his school Christmas Concert.

When it came to an outfit that was able to do "double duty," keeping it simple was the name of the game. In fact, each incarnation of this look comprised of only 4 pieces!

Dress + Sandals + Handbag + Bracelet

The hero of the ensemble was this amazing pink & black "floral lace print" jacquard mini dress from Anthea Crawford with bateau neckline, cap sleeves & pleated waist detail with half bow for visual interest. Jacquard is a relatively hardy fabric - perfect for spending time with children - while a "busy" print in a darker colour way hides any possible stains that could have accrued throughout the day's events.

Black accessories - these relatively flat wedge-heeled gladiators from Betts for Her & boxy Novo handbag - are always a great go-to & patent adds that "special" shiny touch for this special time of year. Jewellery was kept simple & minimal - a chunky wooden beaded bracelet with silver sun & moon charms from Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington.

Later on, before heading out the Carols, I quickly swapped the wedges for a pair of matte leather & elastic heeled gladiators from Novo (for that bit of nighttime edge) & the bracelet for a silver moulded cuff from Tree of Life that harks back to my Celtic roots.

Now that the fashion is taken care of, scroll down for a peek at the hijinks that ensued:
