Thought, Word, Deed

Yup, it's that time of the year again! Festival Time in the River City. I absolutely adore Brisbane when the weather cools down as it's the perfect time to enjoy outdoor pursuits without the sunburn or sweating or threat of severe thunderstorms. Buddha's Birthday is one of the those events I look forward to year after year, as the heady mix of food, dance, culture & religion is both inspiring & enlightening. Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...

Posing by the Brisbane River under cloudless skies wearing a gorgeous floral twill dress with princess seams from Anthea Crawford, vintage blue lace three-quarter-sleeved jacket that once belonged to my Great Grandmother, silver leather brogues from Country Road for a touch of daytime shine & a matching cross-body bag with utilitarian strap from Noosa Living. When it came to accessories, I decided to go with some newbies: a heavy burnished Tibetan silver bracelet on one wrist; a chunky light maple wood watch & thin Tibetan silver bracelet on the other; all gifts or from nameless little boutiques in eclectic, bohemian townships. Finishing the look is, of course, a vintage straw cloche hat with embroidered raffia flower design that I picked up a while ago from the Ipswich Antique Centre - ideal for warding off the harmful rays of the Queensland sun.

Sweet Treats for Brunch:
one white chocolate & strawberry, the other lemon meringue

Couldn't resist a cinnamon pide & raspberry iced tea, either!

On the steps outside the Nepalese Temple...
Joanne is wearing a beautiful dark floral cotton fit-to-flare midi dress from Portmans with "folded" waist detail, black leather brogues with cut-outs from Wittner, duck-egg-blue vinyl cross-body bag from Sportsgirl, silver Celtic earrings from Prouds & a woven sunhat from Before Sunset, picked up at the EKKA a few years ago.
