Lately

 

A nod to nautical in this sweet, predominantly vintage ensemble for an event in the River City! The amazing bias-cut, stretchy 90s maxi dress with its navy lining & white & blue floral sheath is the Stiletto brand (the same label as my semi-formal dress, back in the day for those who may be interested) that I found at Retro World Collective & I've styled it up with a pair of Zigi navy crocodile patent leather pointy-toed heels from Peter Sheppard, a natural woven paper bucket bag from Sportsgirl, vintage Mexican silver bangle stack on one arm, vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles on the other & finally, a jaunty little vintage white sailor-style beret that I discovered at Empire Antiques in Paddington a little earlier in the year.

All those 1950s vibes in this purple & black oversized floral print jacquard fit-to-flare midi dress from "girly" Australian label Review, cinched in with a wide black patent & elastic belt & styled up with a black polyester ruffled petticoat from Banned Retro via That Shop, a pair of black vegan leather buckled round-toe heels with buttons & bows & boxy natural woven straw bag with black resin beaded handle from Kitten D'Amour & my usual favourite silver jewelery pieces.

All ready for my birthday karaoke trip down "memory lane" in this pink floral lace stunner from Dangerfield that I've added some grosgrain ribbon tie straps to (thanks to my seamstress Desley) as well as styled up with a pair of chunky pink patent leather Mary Jane heels from Princess Highway for height... & edge...

Another day, another outing for this black linen blend slip dress from Lily Loves at Target (you may remember it from a recent blog post) that I love so much! I've added a pair of black leather slingbacks with grey & pink tweed pointy-toes & striped bow detailing from Wittner, a pale pink velvet knot bag from Spanish label Swinging Chicks Shop on Etsy & a beautiful silver mesh hinged bangle with marcasite & onyx art deco clasp from the lovely ladies at Precious Stones Jewellers.

Quick coffee run in a funky summer floral linen camisole & matching 3/4 pants with tie belt from my local Big W store, silver leather t-bar flat sandals with faux pearls & stud details from Carvela by Kurt Geiger & a natural woven straw crossbody bag from Target to carry all the essentials.

Look closely to see a teeny tiny busy & buzzy little interloper who just happened to fly past the time I was trying to take a picture of the new sign out in the backyard garden...

Black & silver is a forever winning combination as far as I'm concerned! This stunning floral jacquard shift dress from Review looks amazing with a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for added height, a boxy black suede & vinyl handbag with silver handles from French Connection (now Unison for those who may be wondering where the label went), a pair of black silk floral corsages from Kitten D'Amour for added texture, a silver cuff from Wallace Bishop & matching silver & onyx bangle with charms & ring from Pandora to complete the look.
