Memorialise

A misty morning spent in town, taking some pictures at the beautiful, sacred war memorial in Baines Park, Limestone Street, Ipswich. In the summertime, this area is awash with bright red blooms from the trees but during the winter, it hits a more solemn note. What I love about our town/city is the way that we take such care with the memories of those who lost their lives in service of our country & who gave their lives fighting for our freedom in many conflicts around the world. This specific memorial - originally located at the intersection of Burnett & Brisbane Streets before being moved to its current location in 1967 - loving honours "Our Boys" who lost their lives fighting "For King & Country" in the Great War 1914-1919.

In these pictures, I'm wearing a leopard print cotton poplin midi dress with oversized collar, long voluminous sleeves & ruffled hemline from a label called Kachel, styled up with a pair of navy patent leather loafers from Paul Green via Peter Sheppard Footwear, a navy vinyl & tweed handbag from the delightful Oh Jo Jo Boutique to carry all the essentials & a navy velvet bow clip from Dangerfield for that finishing flourish that truly makes an outfit shine.
