According to the fashion magazines, it's official: bows are back. Personally, I don't think they ever left as ladylike dressing is a perennially-popular trend that appeals to a certain demographic 100% of the time... much like nautical & luxe bohemian IT WILL NEVER DIE. It makes sense, therefore, to invest in pieces from this trend that you can wear year after year, like this amazing blue fleur-de-lis printed jacquard midi dress with cold shoulder detailing from Australian designer Anthea Crawford that I have had for three or four years now & continue to wear on a semi-regular basis because it always looks as though it is new-season, especially with a change-up of accessories to suit the occasion & my mood on the day. On this particular occasion, I styled it with a pair of black laser-cut leather heeled booties from Wittner, boxy suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection, brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop & Turkish "evil eye" beaded bracelets & ring from Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant & the Chapel Hill State School fete, respectively... ideal options for that tough/pretty look that gives off fierce girl-power vibes while harking back to the era of sock hops, promise rings & chivalry.
