After some technical difficulties, I'm finally sharing pictures of the outfit I wore to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts just as the shops opened in the River City on Christmas Eve Eve. Traditional festive colours are red & green so this mint guipure lace dress from Anthea Crawford - with its sweet cap sleeves, tapered waist & 3D below-the-knee hemline - was a twist on a classic & an ideal "summery" option for the balmy Queensland weather.

Rather than wear heavy black accessories with such a fresh hue, I donned a pair of edgy dove-grey suede stacked heels with laces from Novo & carried a boxy grey faux-croc-print handbag from Guess to keep the essentials safe; most importantly my wallet. Guess was also the order of the day when it came to jewellery - a chunky androgynous watch from their 2015 collection on one wrist that created the perfect juxtaposition with the delicate Wanfu jade beaded bracelet (brought home by my younger brother from a recent trip to China) on the other.

After a morning spent braving the pre-Christmas rush, a relaxing afternoon celebrating Christmas with friends was definitely in order... after a quick outfit change, that is...

Dress: Vintage, poly-blend (from Hawaii)
Heels: Novo suede & lace-up
Clutch: Rockmans Ikat & beaded
Bracelet: Thousand Island Dressing, Paddington wood & silver

The dove-grey suede & lace-up heels from Novo could stay but the fitted, below-the-knee lace dress from Anthea Crawford was exchanged for this sweet vintage "sailor" mini that was sent to me last Christmas by a dear friend who now lives in Hawaii; the boxy grey vinyl handbag swapped for a beaded, monochrome Ikat printed clutch with pink accents from Rockmans - excellent for adding a "pop" of colour to the look - & the jewellery reduced to a simple black wooden beaded bracelet with silver sun & moon charms from the fabulous Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington.

And it was time to "play Santa" for my own little Lollipop Guild, so named after the munchkins in The Wizard of Oz who enjoyed spending their days eating delicious candy... not that these 2 are allowed to do THAT, but one in particular wishes it were so!

Yep, lollipops...

A little peek at the gorgeous gifts that I received...
THANKS SO MUCH Isabella & Olivia!
