Now that the South East Queensland weather is no longer doing a very good impression of a blast furnace, it's time to start heading out on day trips to places that would otherwise be too darn uncomfortable in the summertime... or early autumn, for that matter. The Redcliffe Jetty Markets is one of those places & I was excited to head back there a couple of weeks ago with one of my dearest friends & her inquisitive little munchkin for a bit of a browse before continuing on to Woody Point to enjoy a meal overlooking the ocean at The Belvedere (roast beetroot salad with quinoa & hazelnut comes highly recommended) with old fashioned ice cream on the foreshore for dessert... while fending off hungry seagulls that just don't seem to want to take no for an answer!

For the occasion, I wore a navy blue coated cotton midi dress with silver 3D embellishment from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label (exclusive to Myer) with a pair of shiny metallic silver flat loafers from Nine West (otherwise known as the ULTIMATE comfy walking shoe) & a slightly battered/worn in silver leather crossbody bag with cream strap detailing from bohemian brand Noosa Living... an ideal choice to keep my hands free for some market stall rummaging. Jewellery was kept simple - a Tibetan silver bracelet that I picked up at a little boutique in Maleny that has steadily become one of my absolute favourites & a vintage silver & brushed gold hinged bangle with scarab from a 1990s Egyptian exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, gifted to me by someone very stylish. Finally, I placed a straw fedora with a "rope" band by Morgan & Taylor (purchased at my local TK Maxx for under $10) on my head for a little nautical touch... & to ward off the harmful rays of the sun, of course.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
