To celebrate the special woman in our lives, we headed to one of our all-time favourite restaurants, Creole Soul Kitchen in Spring Hill where the atmosphere, service & food is always exemplary... as you'll see from the pictures below; apologies in advance if you were already feeling famished... For the occasion, I donned a brand-spanking-new navy blue spotted mesh mini dress with dipped neckline, voluminous sleeves, multitudinous tiers & a chunky silver back zipper from Aussie label Mossman Clothing, shiny black patent booties from Wittner for that 1960s look I so adore, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to ward off the evening chill (the ideal weight for Queensland temperatures as far as I'm concerned) & carried a matte leather handbag from a kitschy little store called Pigeonhole in the Wintergarden... seriously the ideal spot for anything funky or retro inspired. When it came to jewellery, I kept it simple (well, as simple as I get) in deference to the somewhat OTT nature of the dress with a pair of oversized silver cocktail rings from Oxfam; one on each hand.

LOVE YOU MUM!

And the lady of the hour... looking stylish in a gorgeous baroque printed shift dress from Anthea Crawford, black devore three-quarter-sleeved jacket with fringing from Taking Shape, shiny black patent Mary Jane style heels with gold buckles from Wittner, structured vinyl handbag with gold hardware from Colette by Colette Hayman & finally, to complete the ensemble, a vintage "ice skating girl" brooch that I once gave her as a gift from a little vintage store in Paddington.
