Another pleasant Saturday spent traipsing around Teneriffe, brunching at my favourite almost-water-front cafe, Brio & trawling the eclectic Commercial Road Antiques, searching for those perfect little knick-knacks that have been missing from my life... or the lives of my friends & family members... before celebrating Chinese New Year by hitting up the Lubentan Night Markets at Calamvale for dinner & market-stall-shopping!

This vivid Anthea Crawford dress - made from crush-proof textured pique & with easy sheath shape, scoop neckline & draped side detail - was the ideal "weekend wear" choice, working equally well with bright accessories for day & darker, funkier ones for night. Moreover, the print itself - "firework floral" - is a sweet nod to the traditional way Chinese New Year is celebrated... with lots (& lots!) of dazzling fireworks.

For the daytime accessories, I picked out one of the shades of pink inherent in the print & matched it to the patent heels of my 1970s-style wedges, in turn matching the beige leather front of the shoes to my boxy vinyl handbag.

When it came to jewellery, casual yet visually interesting was the go - a stack of bangles on my left arm comprising of Kashmiri painted styles interspersed with Indian mirrored styles in rose & yellow gold & a single, vintage rose gold aluminum cuff studded with a rainbow of semi-precious stones on my right arm.

Keep scrolling for some Saturday snapshots...

Corn fritters with poached eggs & bruschetta... There are no words to describe how amazing it tasted. Even my brunch-hating brother Louis was impressed!

Brunch bangle-stack...

Super-styling with Gloria, the Woolstore sheep...

Beautiful breezes by the Brisbane River...

Exploring the neighbourhood...

Bubble blowing street art...

Stay tuned for the next installment, where a quick change of accessories readies the dress for a Saturnight to remember!
