Luncheon dates require a little something special in the wardrobe department & this peach dress with gold floral lace overlay from Anthea Crawford - my go-to designer - really brought the daytime "wow" factor to a Stamford Plaza buffet by the Brisbane River.

The shape of the dress is absolutely stunning, with a high, scooped neckline, nipped-in waist detail & just-below-the-knee hemline. The way the light hit the lace overlay meant that the print was constantly in flux, while the stretchy peach fabric below stayed firm, hugging the body to create a lean silhouette. It wouldn't be overstating it to say that I felt like a walking, talking piece of art...

When it came to accessories, flesh-tone, patent, pointy-toed pumps (with clear side panels!) were chosen to add a bit of 1940s "wiggle" to the look, elongate the legs & blend into the background somewhat, allowing the duck-egg blue rubber handbag with gold hardware to be the star.

And what a star! The sweet little number that I picked up for a steal at the Lubentan Night Markets was a pleasing "pop" of colour that not only worked with the peach & gold tones of the dress but seemed as though it was made to be worn with the jewellery - a thick gold hinged bangle with vivid 3D scene from Cinderella & thin gold hinged bangle with delicate  handpainted flower - the overall look cohesive & visually interesting.
