See previous post, "Saturday," for a quick recap of a morning spent traipsing around Teneriffe, brunching at a favourite cafe, enjoying the view & cool breezes of the waterfront, searching through vintage wares at Commerical Road Antiques, marveling at industrial architecture & hunting down quirky street art...

Here's the scoop on Saturnight:
After a quick change of accessories - & a quick shake of my hair to get rid of any insect hitchhikers that we may have accrued when taking some pictures in the courtyard of my brother's townhouse - it was time to head out to the Lubentan Night Markets at Calamvale to celebrate Chinese New Year.

The bright beige leather wedges with pink patent accents were gone, replaced by a moody, closed-in pair of black suede peeptoes with rattan heels & a leather ankle strap, more suited to night-time attire.

Seeing as we were attending the markets, the boxy, double-handled beige handbag was nixed in favour of a hand-free cross-body bag made of black vinyl, with a "crumpled" front flap. Where the morning accessories played up the bright colours inherent in the print's flowers, their evening counterparts played on the black background.

And the same can be said for the jewellery - one oversized, vintage tribal cuff was all that was required to make a darker, more "sculptural" statement than the daytime's flowery, hippie-vibe bangles. Better still, the shape of the piece matches the bag's "crumpled" flap.

Scroll down for a peek at the night's festivities...

Milk tea with tapioca "pearls" - my favourite!

Dragon marionettes & slippers...

Making new friends...

Wishing you all a Happy Chinese New Year!
2015 is the Year of the Wooden Sheep/Goat
