HAPPY EASTER EVERYBUNNY!

On the Holiest Day of the Christian calendar, I woke to a rainy sky & headed off to Church with the family wondering whether or not I should have brought a lightweight jacket or wrap for a little extra coverage over my cotton dress... By mid afternoon, as the 6 of us exited the amazing Oishii Sushi Bar after yet another divine meal, the clouds had parted to reveal a bright, cloudless vista & shining sun. Cue climbing temperatures & a certain 8 year old girl begging for a swim in the sparkling - & surprisingly chilly! - swimming pool, new beaded bunny friend in attendance. Request granted, hilarity ensured. This was my family Easter - I hope yours was just as spiritual, joyful & magical...

Bonny & bright was the order of the day & the amazing abstract red & white floral print dress of this Anthea Crawford dress, with its deep v-neckline & waist darts, was the ideal choice, particularly when mixed with a pair of white leather, pointy-toed pumps & a cute woven straw, picnic-basket style handbag with coloured ribbons woven into the sides. A little wink & nod to vintage Easter ensembles worn in the Northern Hemisphere, where the blessed day falls in the early Springtime...

When it came to jewellery, I decided to mix metals for a little more sparkle, donning a chunky flower bracelet on one wrist & a stack of gold & silver beaded bangles - a thoughtful gift from a dear friend who lives in India - on the other.

See below for a close-up of each in turn:

Still Want More, Dear Readers?!?

Well then, scroll down to see how Easter Sunday unfolded...

Ruby Red Shoes (the gorgeous character created by talented author & artist Kate Knapp) decided to join in on the action with an Easter Sunday "flat lay"...

On another note, these two sweet little tomes - Ruby Red Shoes & Ruby Red Shoes Goes to Paris - are perfect for the young & young-at-heart, full of old-fashioned values like being kind to each other & finding beauty & joy in even the simplest things... If you would like to share the wonder, they are available at many book & gift stores around town or online at The Book Depository or Booktopia.

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven & Earth; & in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead & buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven & sits on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from there he shall judge the living & the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body & the life everlasting. Amen." The Apostle's Creed
