A Taste of India

Headed out for a pre-birthday dinner with friends wearing this Jane Ramsay Grecian-style dress in a vibrant emerald green; a recent find on the sale rack at a store in Paddington. The high, round neckline & square sleeves were perfect for the cooler Autumn weather, while asymmetrical, cut-on-the-bias drapery brought the drama for a special occasion. 


A pair of black suede & rattan peeptoe wedges - with edgy ankle straps - mixed with a circular vintage woven handbag, lent a relaxed, bohemian vibe to what could have become a very staid, "dressed up" look & a couple of brass bangles - one chunky & one thin - added to this effect. Moreover, they gave me that satisfying "clank" noise when they moved together...

Earlier we spoke about drama & this stunning statement citrine necklace from India, a present from a dear friend, is ALL ABOUT IT! The "bib" design worked well with the modest neckline & the large gemstone beads sparkled when the light touched them. Truth be told, I had been waiting & waiting for the right time to bust out this look (a few months, in fact!) & I'm so glad I did, as I really felt so amazing & special in this piece, like the stylish 31 year old I (almost!) am...
