Finally sharing all the pictures of the gorgeous outfit I styled up to wear to a recent ballet performance of La Bayadere (The Temple Dancer) at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). Transporting the viewer to the exotic world of the 19th century British Raj, it tells the tale of Solor, son of the Maharajah of Cooch Behar who, despite professing his undying love for Nikya, a bayadere (temple dancer) is forced to marry the Governor-General's daughter, unleashing a tragic string of events that entwines them all through life, death & the ghostly Kingdom of the Shades. A cauldron of colonial politics, glittering balls & opium-filled dreams, it truly was a sight to behold due to the costumes, musical accompaniment, special effects & the divine talents of the dancers from the Queensland Ballet, West Australian Ballet & Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

For the occasion, I donned a beautiful, lipstick red floral guipure lace midi dress with cold shoulder detailing & body-con fit from Anthea Crawford, mixed with a pair of pewter heeled mules from Lunar (via Zomp Shoez in Fortitude Valley) & burgundy vinyl handbag with chrome hardware from Nine West to carry all my essentials. When it came to jewellery, I kept things simple yet effective: a matching brass cuff & ring with silver filigree detailing & picture of Winnie the Pooh & Piglet in a clear faceted dome in the centre from Disney Couture for that touch of whimsy.
