Rocking some red, white & blue (rather than the more obvious green & gold) in honour of the Australia Day long weekend. The cute vintage mini dress was cool in the soaring temperatures, while the plush kangaroo backpack - a souvenir from my recent jaunt to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - was the perfect whimsical touch... well, it IS one of the creatures on our Coat of Arms, after all! And can we talk about the hilarious oversized Australian Flag bow in my hair?! It was the ideal way to finish such a patriotic ensemble.

Speaking of patriotic, here are some pictures from the long weekend celebrating everything that is wonderful about living in this sunburnt country of ours...

Reading a good book in bed while enjoying a morning lie-in...

One spoilt Spoodle enjoying the air-conditioned comfort...

Huckleberry (& the rest of us) watching the lovely Audrey Hepburn in "How to Steal a Million." What I wouldn't give for a chance to rummage through that wardrobe!

Bush dance music on my Ipod... Absolutely adore The Bushwackers, particularly "The Overlanders" & "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda."

Mini pizzas & Bundaberg Passionfruit Sparkling Drink.

Return of the wacky Australian Flag bow mirror "selfie."

Strawberry milkshake in an anodised cup...

Taking a trip down "memory lane" by looking through old photographs...

Cooking Macadamia & Pistachio Balls from a recipe I discovered at Christmas... Changed it up by adding Macadamia Honey & leaving out the dried cranberries.

Testing my creation for morning tea, using Dad's vintage "Skippy" plate.

Watching "Skippy: The Bush Kangaroo" episodes...
Thanks so much for the Christmas present, Jeremy!

Kitty love from Scout...

Important dates in the diary...

A healthy breakfast of muesli & raspberry yoghurt.

Light reading...

Dress: Vintage, 1970s Helen B Sydney poly-blend
Ring: Coated leather "wrap around" flower from Southbank Markets
Reading Glasses: Red or Dead from Specsavers, Ipswich

Working on the blog wearing yet another vintage mini dress - this time covered in hibiscus print. The silver inherent in pattern matches the oversized silver leather flower ring that I picked up one weekend at the Southbank Markets.

Loving these retro-style spectacles from Red or Dead with the square shape, black top & clear bottom. Very Buddy-Holly-esque...
