As anticipated, yesterday's so-called "rain event" was short-lived, with only a few intermittent showers throughout today. The temperature was still relatively cool, however & the sky overcast - ideal conditions for a late sleep in & a little flat lay of what I would be wearing sometime this long weekend...

Clearly, this outfit takes inspiration from Kate Knapp's gorgeous fictional creation, Ruby Red Shoes, an "aware hare" who lives with her grandmother, Babushka Galina Galushka in a quaint little painted gypsy caravan & goes on all manner of good-natured adventures, charming everyone she meets with her message of kindness to all creatures. Her shoes may be red, but her pink & red floral corduroy skirt & striped pink stockings somehow reminded me of this Anthea Crawford dress - the textured floral jacquard imaginatively titled "Fairy Floss" - that was a Christmas present I have yet to wear. I'm thinking white embellished sandals & my gorgeous white & straw "picnic basket style" handbag for a warm, sunny day...

And speaking of Christmas presents, I decided to stick with the "pinky" theme & try out the Rituelle cotton candy hand cream given to me by the daughters of some dear friends who saw me trying out the testers at the eclectic D'Bar Cafe & Gallery at Coolangatta while on my beach-side sojourn... It smells so good (like a day at the EKKA) that you just want to eat it, even though you know you can't...
