All dressed up in my best wintertime finery for an art appreciation event in the cultural precinct followed by a delicious lunch at the Asian-streetfood-inspired Chowhouse in Fortitude Valley. I'm wearing this utterly divine silver & black baroque embroidered mesh shift dress with fluted three-quarter-sleeves, modified sweetheart neckline, below-the-knee hem & black satin lining from Anthea Crawford, edgy black patent ankle boots from Wittner to provide height while elongating my frame, black matte 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz (my go-to brand for fit & longevity) & a retro-inspired, chartreuse patent vinyl handbag with oversized black bow detailing from Sourpuss via Poison Arrow Clothing at Springfield to carry all the essentials while providing a "pop" of colour, elevating the ensemble & making it more appropriate for a "dressy" daytime occasion. When it came to jewellery, less was DEFINITELY more, so an unexpected, oversized black ceramic cocktail ring in the shape of a heart - handmade in Melbourne by Studio Leanne (one of my greatest ever Etsy discoveries) - was all that was required to complete the look & make a statement.

Scroll down to see more gorgeous outfit pictures, this time with the addition of a black vintage rabbit fur capelet (gifted to me by a dear friend many years ago) to ward off the morning chill...

Keep scrolling for a few snippets of the ambiance & delicious fare on offer at the aforementioned Chowhouse in James Street. It comes highly recommended!
