There are certain books or films or songs that really stick in your mind long after you read, watch or hear them for the very first time & The Man from Snowy River is one of those for me, so I was (of course) absolutely delighted to attend a recent live musical performance of the beloved Australian tale with some dear friends. For the occasion, I donned this stunning black & gold spotted jacquard maxi dress with stretch panel detailing from designer label Sacha Drake, styled up with a sumptuous vintage silk wrap in alternating shades of gold & olive depending on where the sun/light hits that I picked up from a little hole-in-the-wall vintage shop at Montville many years ago, a pair of black matte leather pointy-toed booties from Wittner for a modicum of height & a natural woven straw handbag with black leather clasp from Witchery to carry all the essentials. When it came to jewellery, I kept it simple but statement-making with a stack of gold & onyx Alex & Ani bangles with charms for that touch of daytime shine.

Finally sharing a peek at the beautiful pictures from a recent wedding in the Gold Coast hinterland on what was probably THE rainiest day of the holidays! Despite the weather - which I personally enjoyed once we'd finished traversing the winding roads & made it to our destination as the raindrops settling on surfaces made for sparkling, special photographs - it was an afternoon & evening filled with joy & merriment & it was lovely to witness the love between two special young people as they continue their lives as husband & wife. It was quite magical sitting underneath the teepees with the family while drinking margaritas, eating delicious Spanish fare from the Paella Man & listening to the live jazz band as the sun began to set.

For the occasion, I wore a stunning black & red baroque floral cotton puff sleeve maxi dress with black stretch lace waistline, high front split & diamante detailing from celebrated Australian designer Camilla, a pair of black leather & elastic gladiator-style kitten heels from Wittner for a modicum of height & a black vinyl cylindrical shoulder bag from Beach n Beyond at Coolangatta that I added a handmade satin, rope & beading "martini glass" charm to for that extra festive touch. When it came to jewellery, I added a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that some dear friends gave me on one wrist & a stack of white & silver beaded bracelets with starfish charms from Saltwater Silver on the other to complete the look.
