Sitting pretty on my beloved backyard swing set & feeling like I've been transported here from the 1930s in a outfit that's giving me serious "The Edge of Love" movie vibes (you know, that one with Sienna Miller & Keira Knightley about the poet Irish poet Dylan Thomas?) with the dress & cardigan combination. I'm wearing a whimsical textured floral organza empire-line midi dress in the softest shade of green from British label Sister Jane's premium diffusion line Dream Sister Jane; a sweet lemon-yellow, heavily embellished, vintage cropped cardigan that some dear friends gifted to me that I've actually been able to utilise this year thanks to the much colder temperatures & finally, a pair of comfortable-yet-stylish faux fur leopard print & leather slingback flats from Jo Mercer for that added touch of pattern-mixing...

If you've been following my Instagram, you'll already know that I've been loving rich, vibrant colours for the changing seasons, hoping to inject a little happiness into each day during the ever-changing pandemic-ridden world that we live in & think of bright days ahead. This particular little number from online emporium Asos' premium diffusion line, Asos Edition, is one of my favourites - a bold, orange broderie cotton tiered midi dress with puff sleeves, ruffles & an open back with tie detailing, it really has thrown absolutely everything into the one look with great success, in my opinion - & is pure sartorial serotonin. I've styled it up for the end of wintertime in the Sunshine State with a sumptuous white wool cape with faux fur collar that was gifted to me by some dear friends many years ago & a pair of orange leather & suede t-bar heels from Wittner to provide a modicum of height & elongate my frame with a bit of monochromatic colour matching. Can't wait to wear it in the warmer months without the cape & perhaps with some gorgeous pieces of bohemian jewellery.

All dressed up for an event in the River City celebrating the 60th anniversary of my all-time favourite Elvis Presley film, the delightful "Blue Hawaii." As an Elvis fan, I'll admit to having watched all of his movies multiple times but this one, in particular, really just triumphs in terms of both the location, the acting, the co-stars (including Angela Lansbury of "Bedknobs & Broomsticks" fame) & of course, the songs... including the ever-popular "Can't Help Falling in Love." In fact, the soundtrack that I discovered in a little antique shop on the Gold Coast is one of the most played records in our house with a great mix of comical surf-rock songs & sweet, sentimental ballads with a tropical Hawaiian twist. 

For the occasion, I wore the beautiful Almond Blossom Print Dress from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford's recent collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, made from a sumptuous crepe de chine printed with Vincent Van Gogh's "Almond Blossom" work from 1890 & comprising of a bias cut silhouette, puff-sleeves, ruched waistline & blousy v-neckline; a pair of black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner for a modicum of height, a black leather & natural woven straw handbag from Witchery & a matching set of vintage shell jewellery pieces in the form of a chunky mosaic bangle, dainty bracelet & silver ring with blue shell centre, all gifted to me by some dear friends for my birthday.
