Sea Monster Monday

Finally sharing all of the pictures from a long weekend Monday at Southbank's Cultural Precinct with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins, taking in the last day of the amazing Sea Monsters exhibit & the dinosaurs at the Queensland Museum before heading to the Art Gallery to explore the courtyard stepping stones & then on to the Parklands for lunch at Barbossa & a run around the Fig Tree Playground on the way home... Phew! It really was a big day, full of happy memories! Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...

For the occasion, I wore a brand new monochrome checked seersucker midi dress with ruffled collar & hemline from the sale section of my local Cotton On store (an absolute bargain at only $25 & such good quality that I went back for a second one... & one in a semi-sheer black stripe too, if I'm honest) that I paired with a vintage-inspired bright pink & white spotted cropped knit cardigan with white fluted cuffs from Kitten D'Amour, a comfortable, flat pair of metallic gold leather gladiator sandals with oversized gold buckles from Wittner, a white woven paper & leather crossbody bag with gold hardware from Witchery to carry all the essentials & a matching yellow & pink floral cotton tote bag & bucket hat from Sportsgirl to really ramp up the pattern mixing & take the otherwise quite casual look to the next level. When it came to jewellery, I kept it simple: a kitschy resin Erstwilder brooch in the shape of a mouse with a wedge of cheese.

Can't go wrong with a burger & fries, washed down with a tall glass of lemonade... even on a Public Holiday with increased prices (warranted, I know). This delicious little lot was from Barbossa Restaurant, Bar & Bottle Shop on Grey Street.

It is becoming increasingly evident that the theme of the day was obviously bridges & stepping stones over the water...
