Finally sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a morning spent exploring the Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve in historical Ipswich with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins. Established in 1880 & sitting above closed-off mining tunnels, it has become an idyllic environmental gem among the bustling suburban cityscape & you quickly forget that you're only minutes from the city's main streets. As you descend the walking tracks among the towering native trees (many trails following the former coal-skip tramway) you can hear the native birds including owls, kookaburras, finches & wrens singing & smell the scent of eucalyptus in the air. A relaxing walk down from the picnic area where we ate McDonalds brunch as a treat - you seriously can't beat their Sausage McMuffin & Hash Brown combo - lies Triassic Park & the Stegosaurus structure protecting the dinosaur footprints & fossil displays that have been found in the area. All in all, a great day out not far from home!

Casual clothes were the order of the day, in this case a gorgeous geometric printed cotton paneled midi dress in primary shades from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of comfortable yet stylish white leather Reebok sneakers from Platypus Shoes, a natural woven straw crossbody bag from a now-defunct, nameless little store on Etsy & finally, a woven sunhat from Seed Heritage to protect my head & face.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
