Changing things up a little with something that I thought I would never wear, particularly to a relatively "dressy" event: tie dye. It's certainly evolved from that late 1960s/early 1970s flower power/Woodstock/hippie era into something a little more subtle & a little more sophisticated but still retains is bohemian whimsy. I've styled up this gorgeous purple & mauve tie dye cotton/cheesecloth empire-line maxi dress with shirred bodice from Tree of Life for a luncheon by adding a darker purple knit cropped cardigan from Kitten D'Amour, a pair of mauve vegan leather deco heels (also Kitten) for added height, a silver patent hard case handbag with silver hardware from Olga Berg via David Jones, a silver belcher necklace with oversized heart pendant from Prouds Jewellers & chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop for that touch of daytime shine.
