Necklace: Gift, silver

Finally posting pictures of the simple-yet-statement four piece outfit I wore to watch a certain small boy play his last cricket game of the season! The unseasonably warm weather (even at dusk) meant that something "floaty" was a MUST, so this asymmetrically tiered silk shift by Liz Jordan at Noni B was ideal, particularly in this vivid red rose print... so "in" this season despite the dress being at least five years old. Black & red "go well" together, as they say, making my choice of a comfortable pair of patent gladiator wedges from Betts for Her seem like a no-brainer while my convertible Vera May handbag - replete with a sweet scene of a front porch, flower-laden garden gate & fluffy white cat - gave me the option of carrying all my essentials via two short handles or one long cross-body strap.

Completing the look was this funky silver necklace - gifted by my dear friend Jenny - with the words, "Be Yourself; Everyone Else is Already Taken" etched on the large circular pendant. Scroll down to check it out in detail:

He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.

Easter Sunday is for Church & that's exactly what we did, dressing up & heading out into the stormy weather to praise & worship He who died & was resurrected. Scroll down if you're curious to see the outfit I styled...

Dress: Anthea Crawford jersey, silk/satin, grosgrain
Sandals: Novo suede with fringing
Bag: Vera May patent with silver hardware
Bunny Ears: Lovisa satin & lace
Bangle: Gift, vintage wood & beads (from India)

For such a special occasion, I donned a new dress from Anthea Crawford (given to me by a dear friend) in a style I absolutely adore - a flattering black jersey bodice with scooped back detail & capped sleeves; flamboyant black & red Japanese floral print silk/satin with tulle underlay & sweet black grosgrain ribbon tied in a bow to complete.

Humid weather meant that enclosed shoes were NOT going to happen, so a pair of black suede Novo sandals with fringing at the heels provided the right mix of comfort & panache, elongating my legs to balance out the dress' below-the-knee hemline. Rather than carry a black handbag, as expected, I continued the festive vibe with a cherry red patent number by Vera May, purchased in the Boxing Day sale at Simona Ricci, picking up on the divine saturated hue inherent in the print of the skirt.

Jewellery was kept minimal - a chunky, vintage wooden bangle with beading that was given to me by a friend who lived in India at the time - in order to allow the whimsical black lace "bunny ears" from Lovisa to remain the focus...

Well, now that the fashion's taken care of, keep scrolling for a few final snippets from the day's celebrations, including sweet treats to & from dear friends... & some of the loot left to me by a certain fluffy little fellow!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYBUNNY!

Absolutely Everybunny #2

After spending a relaxing Good Friday at home with the family, Saturday brought a change of pace with a full-on expedition to Southbank Parklands & the Queensland Museum with my best friend Belinda & her two darling boys, aged seven & eleven months respectively.

As this is a fashion blog, I will note right here that I was wearing a relaxed floral satin dress from Anthea Crawford with a looser, "shift style" cut, modest bateau neckline & below-the-knee hemline, comfortable black patent gladiators with wedge heels from Betts for Her, red wooden beaded necklace from Thousand Island Dressing at Paddington & funky clear resin "Wayfarer" sunglasses I picked up from a little market stall at Coolangatta one September holiday a few years ago.

Scroll down to see how the day unfolded...
