Absolutely Everybunny

Easter is one of my favourite times of the year... After all, what's not to love? A long weekend, Hot Cross Buns by the dozen, piles of chocolate Red Tulip eggs that aren't available at ANY OTHER TIME of the year, fluffy bunnies & cheeping chickens replacing half-naked bikini snaps & "pop psychology" quotes on Instagram for 96 blessed hours... & of course, the death & divine resurrection of Jesus Christ; the most important event in the history of Christianity, strengthening our faith & renewing our hope for the future of humanity.

For God so loved the world
He gave his only begotten son
That whosoever believes in Him
Shall not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

Celebrated Easter with fashion-industry friends at a "Bunny Breakfast" on Wednesday, drinking glasses of bubbly with my traditional English fare before taking part in an Egg Hunt on the lawn in my thoroughly impractical footwear... a pair of stunning, sky-high iridescent peeptoe platforms from Betts for Her that would have been perfect under (almost) any other circumstances!

To truly capture the festive spirit of rebirth & renewal, I donned a flirty little 1950s style lacy number in a bright pastel shade of mauve - not a shade I am normally drawn to as I prefer "jewel tones" but one that quickly grew on me - with a high neckline, box pleated mid-section, below-the-knee hemline, silver exposed back zipper & block colour "contour lines" by So London via Asos, one of my all-time favourite online retailers.

The shoes have already been mentioned but the pastel green & iridescent patent envelope clutch from Target was ideal for carrying the essentials, particularly with the addition of a fluffy white "bunny tail" brooch from my local Lovisa store, where I also found the sweet pair of bunny ears that decorated my poker-straight brunette bob & the piles of faux pearl bracelets stacked on both wrists.

When He had taken the drink, Jesus said,
"It is finished."
With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

John 19:30

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds we have been healed.

1 Peter 2:24

Dressed up for Good Friday family festivities in a blue-toned floral cotton 1950s style cotton dress with black spotted mesh overlay, sweetheart neckline with guipure lace edging & below-the-knee hemline & a comfortable pair of grey leather sandals with "thatched" wedge heels from Novo. Jewellery was kept minimal - a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & Karen Walker bracelet with modern "Cameo" detail.

And of course it wouldn't be right without the ubiquitous "bunny ears" from Lovisa
Check them out in glorious detail below:
