So elated to share all the pictures of an outfit that I styled up to attend a recent dance performance with a dear friend who just happened to be visiting from overseas. I'm wearing a stunning large-scale floral brocade midi dress with princess seams from girly Australian label Review, a pair of cherry red vegan leather round-toe heels with buttons & bows from Kitten D'Amour for a modicum of height & a vibrant, upcycled vinyl shoulder bag from Country Road to carry all the essentials (face mask, sanitizer) while slightly "dressing down" the look for daytime with sport luxe detailing such as the strap embroidery. When it came to jewellery, I kept things simple yet statement-making - a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop on one arm, a vintage red bakelite bracelet, given to me by some dear friends, on the other & finally, a silver, grey & red stone cocktail ring that was also a thoughtful gift from a family member.

Finally sharing a few pictures from a recent mother/daughter shopping trip at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown, taking advantage of the post-Christmas sales & enjoying the last vestiges of the festive decorations all around the centre. I wore a stunning floral embroidered mesh fit-to-flare midi dress with navy satin lining from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford, cinched in at the waist with a stretchy natural woven belt from Hummingbird the Shop, a pair of bright blue leather bow heels by a label called Isabella that I found at Tides Boutique in Burleigh Heads while on holidays & an upcycled vinyl crossbody bag in a corresponding shade of blue from my local Country Road store to carry all the essentials (facemask, hand sanitizer) while keeping the look that little bit more casual for daytime with its sporty embroidered logo strap detailing & half-moon shape. When it came to jewellery, I donned some forever favourites - a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop on one arm & a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles, given to me by some dear friends, on the other to complete the look.

Scroll down for a little peek at our morning tea treat from Brooklyn Donut & Coffee Co & for a cheeky little mother/daughter selfie in one of our most frequented department stores... & yes, my mum's wearing Anthea Crawford, too...

As mentioned in a previous post, December is a pretty busy time for the family with all the Christmas preparations but also a few birthday celebrations thrown in for good measure! In this post, I'm sharing pictures from an afternoon dual birthday celebration for my brother & cousin - born two days & a few years apart - from a few weeks ago. For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous ivory linen Grecian-inspired asymmetrical smock dress with tie strap (extra embellished strap added by me as I'm not a fan of one-shoulder dresses on myself) from celebrated Australian designer Aje, styled up with a pair of beautiful & bright blue leather bow heels from a brand called Isabella that I picked up from Tides Boutique in Burleigh Heads (yes, they look utterly divine but I really can't recommend them as the quality actually isn't particularly good despite the hefty price tag - the bottom of the heels practically disintegrated after only three small wears... they're subsequently at the shoe repair being fixed) for a pop of bright colour, a blue & silver mother of pearl brooch in the shape of a Christmas Angel that was given to me by a dear friend years ago & my usual favourite silver jewellery pieces - a vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles (now reopened in a new location at the Gold Coast/Tweed Heads) & a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles to complete the look.

Scroll down to see more, including a close-up of the brooch in question & some cheeky little family pictures before our guests arrived...
