Southbanked

Spent a wonderful mother/daughter Saturday enjoying cultural pursuits at Southbank Parklands - the State Library & Queensland Art Gallery - as well as a spot of degustation & market browsing/shopping, of course!

Scroll down to see how the day unfolded... & what we wore...

View of the upside down elephant statue from the State Library window wall...

Joanne ascending the stairs in a green coated silk shift with bubble hemline & bronze embellishment by Holmes & Fallon, purchased a few years ago from Green Tangerine at Paddington & a pair of bronze leather kitten-heeled sandals with sparkly t-bar straps by Bare Traps at Simona Ricci while carrying a black vinyl Jag handbag.

Checking out the "Distant Lines" Exhibit (a montage of images exploring the Queensland World War 1 & 2 experience) & the Talbot Family Treasures Wall...

Sitting pretty outside the Philip Bacon Heritage Gallery wearing a printed cotton/sateen Anthea Crawford empire-line dress with a deep v-neckline & folded waist detail, feet ensconced in a pair of black leather & elastic gladiator sandals with ankle straps by Novo & holding a small, bright orange vinyl cross-body bag from Colette by Colette Hayman in my lap. Minimal jewellery, to match the casual vibe of the day - a stack of colourful "threaded" bangles in varying shapes (circles, squares) & patterns (block colour, stripes) from Tree of Life taking up space on my right forearm.

Giving peace a chance...

Trying my hand at making origami stars for the "Peace & Quiet" Exhibition...

Treating ourselves to a Lemon Meringue Pie & Chocolate Pistachio Slice with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream at The Library Cafe before washing it all down with a piping hot Chai Latte in a signature Mantle & Moon wide mug.

Courtyard statue gazing at the Queensland Art Gallery...

Stopping for some delicious American-style "Sliders" at Grill'd
