Micro mini dresses with tights underneath are my absolute favourite in the colder months... particularly if those dresses are puffy little organza numbers from whimsical cult-label Selkie! The look truly lends itself to the South East Queensland weather, too, which can be so unpredictable that it can go from low single digits as the sun rises to almost 30 degrees Celsius by midday! With that in mind, I was so elated to wear this gorgeous ensemble for a morning spent exploring Southbank Parklands in the sunshine before grabbing a piping hot chai latte from one of the many great vendors & heading over to the "cultural precinct" for a tour of the Queensland Art Gallery with a dear friend.

The Selkie "puff mini dress" in question (sourced from Revolve's eclectic online emporium) is made from the most delightful William Morris floral print organza & is such a delight with its exaggerated puff sleeves, ruffled neckline & triple layer skirt. I've styled it up with a pattern-clashed pink, blue, yellow & black Inca print silk scarf from The Two Mrs Grenvilles that I found at my local David Jones store, donned a pair of navy patent heeled booties from Wittner for a modicum of height, a pair of navy 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty-warm, a navy vinyl circular crossbody bag with pompom strap from French Connection to carry all the essentials including the usual face mask & hand sanitizer & finally, added a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles on one wrist & a single vintage silver bangle from 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles on the other for a touch of daytime shine.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
