Toowoomba Trip

Finally sharing all of the beautiful pictures from a day spent traipsing around the Queens Park area of downtown Toowoomba with my mother & younger brother, beginning with a delicious brunch at specialist bakery The Baker's Duck (& browse at the kitschy little neighbouring boutiques) followed by a visit to the Cobb & Co Museum to explore all things horse-drawn vehicle, Hornby Trains & mega fauna as well as a plethora of interactive science displays & "secret spy business" with the school holiday display on espionage courtesy of a collaboration with ASIO & finally ending up in the park itself, albeit the heritage-listed Toowoomba Botanic Gardens side where they hold the celebrated "Carnival of Flowers" every September.

This will be a pretty picture-heavy post, so keep on scrolling to see how it all unfolded...

Nothing better than good food & good company in the sunshine on a wintry day... especially if there's a piping hot chai latte involved!

Windmills

Pennys posing with the Penny Farthings... it just had to be done!

Cheeky little selfies in any & all mirrored surfaces...

Wait a minute, Mr Postman!

Taxidermy

Taking a ride in my own carriage... check out that Royal Wave!

If only he was real...

He's behind me, isn't he?!

Sitting pretty in the courtyard...

Shhhhh!

Relishing the opportunity to bust out some "winter wear" for the trip - a striking black & white floral print cotton midi-length shirtdress with leg-of-mutton sleeves, tiered hemline & stretch belt from new label Commonry (discovered at department store David Jones), a black & white spotted wool/felt 1960s style jacket from a funky little label called WS that I picked up from a little hidden gem called Temptations Boutique at a local shopping centre that just adds that interest with the tonal pattern-mixing (word to the wise: choose items with patterns in different sizes for a more polished look), a pair of Anne of Green Gables style black matte & patent leather ankle boots with buttons from Wittner, 40 denier nylon black tights from Razzamatazz to keep my legs feeling toasty warm & a black vinyl bag from Sussan that brings in those 1990s vibes that seem to be all over the fashion magazines at present. When it came to jewellery, I donned a few of my favourites - a stack of vintage Mexican silver bangles that were given to me by some dear friends last Christmas & a thicker, vintage silver bangle that was given to me by my brother & found at the (sadly now defunct) 20th Century Antiques & Collectibles at Coolangatta.

Those wide open spaces...

Bright & Breezy

Seems to be a traditional to take a "sitting on the edge of the fountain" picture every time I visit...

Just a couple of Autumn Leaves...

Taking the tree-lined path...

Squad Goals

Feeling like I just stepped out of a Jane Austen novel in the formal garden area...
I don't think anyone would be surprised if I said that I was clearly considering myself to be an Elizabeth Bennett type of character.
