Holidaze: Part Four

Dress: Vintage, Gwen Gwillam rayon muu-muu
Sandals: Novo leather lace-up gladiators
Bag: Cath Kidston coated canvas
Sunglasses: Witchery (faux) tortoiseshell
Bangles: Thousand Island Dressing wood
Bracelets with Charms: Emmala by Emma wooden, silver & tassel

Road trippin' with my younger brother to Miami for a morning of traipsing around the Gold Coast Antique Centre, rummaging around for some 70s gems at Rare Groove Records then "chowing down" (as Shaggy from Scooby Doo would say) on a delicious warm lamb salad & banana & honey smoothie at 52 Espresso...

For such an occasion, I rocked a vintage, Mayan-style-print rayon Gwen Gwillam muu-muu given to me by a dear friend (who wore it herself back in the day!), flesh-tone leather lace-up gladiators from Novo & a floral coated canvas cross-body bag by Cath Kidston that I picked up at this year's EKKA.

Jewellery was piled on but kept netural: a pair of wooden bangles from Thousand Island Dressing at Paddington & a pair of handmade wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms & tassels from Emmala by Emma that I bought while on holidays this time last year. Finishing the look was a pair of "groovy" circular-framed (faux) tortoiseshell sunglasses from Witchery to keep the sun out of my eyes...

Morning beach walks around Snapper Rocks in a vintage, monochrome Hawaiian-map-print cotton muu-muu by Aloha Republic, three-quarter-sleeved black mesh cardigan from Yarra Trail, leather & silver elastic Emerson sandals & tiny, black woven straw cross-body bag from my local Target store. Jewellery was also monochromatic in nature: a trio of beaded bracelets held together with a black ribbon bow, given to me by some dear friends & a thin, shell piece bracelet from Ripcurl. As usual, a pair of oversized, faux tortoiseshell sunglasses from Witchery kept my eyes safe from the sun's biting glare.

Heading out for a $10 lunch at the Kirra Beach Hotel in a vintage cotton baby-doll dress from the 1960s - it made me feel like Gidget, I'm not going to lie! - cream crushed cotton kimono with fringed hemline from Billabong, comfy leather Hush Puppies gladiators & tribal print cross-body bag from Ripcurl. When it came to jewellery, for once less was more: a pair of woven bangles with wooden beaded centres that I picked up at the Kirra Kite Festival days before...

Werking on my fitness...

Dress: Vintage, Jaylan of California cotton
Sandals: Emerson @ Big W leather & elastic
Bag: Rusty Australia @ Ripcurl vinyl & Ikat fabric
Sunglasses: Witchery (faux) tortoiseshell
Bracelets: Mahnee bead, silver
Ring: Mahnee silver
Hat: Rigon woven cotton

*

Stunning mornings are just MADE for leisurely walks & this time, it was all about Duranbah... followed by a divine seafood lunch at the celebrated George's Paragon! To keep the sun off my shoulders, a vintage Jaylan of California chevron cotton shift with slightly-puffed sleeves was chosen, mixed with a pair of leather & silver elastic sandals from Emerson @ Big W & Ikat print fabric cross-body bag by Rusty Australia to capture that laid-back, beachy feel. Sunglasses & a wide brimmed sunhat were a must (from Witchery & Rigon respectively) & jewellery was kept minimal, merely a foursome of beaded bracelets from Mahnee, held together by a heart-shaped pendant, as well as a sculptural silver heart-shaped ring on my middle finger.

Taking in the view...

Dress: Charlie Brown chiffon & satin kaftan
Sandals: Sportsgirl clear glitter jellies

Bangle: Gift, silver & bead

*

Out to brunch at Cecada's Restaurant in a vivid palm-photo-print chiffon & satin kaftan by Australian design stalwart Charlie Brown mixed with clear glitter jelly sandals from Sportsgirl (nothing like reliving your childhood & buying yourself all of the things your Mother wouldn't let you have... although, she was right, they DO make your feet sweat, so caveat emptor everyone...) & beachy Ikat print fabric cross-body bag from Ripcurl. Minimal jewellery only with a such a "busy" ensemble; merely a silver & orange beaded wrap bracelet to draw in one of the colours from the dress.

Beach dazed in a gorgeous matching cotton drawstring shift & kimono from Byron Bay based lifestyle company Dreamers & Drifters, (click here to visit their amazing website) woven straw cross-body bag from Target, oversized sunglasses from Witchery & sunhat by Before Sunset.

It was an "arm party" on my right-hand side with a chunky silver & shell bracelet from Du Monde, trio of monochrome beaded bracelets held together with ribbon & thin shell piece bracelet from Ripcurl... while a solitary wood & shell ring from Thousand Island Dressing kept the left-hand side interesting too...
