Heading out for a look around the Coolangatta shops in a vintage tie dye kaftan with embroidered neckline detail, mustard drill cotton anorak from Aztec Rose (to ward off the chilly coastal breezes), black lace-up wedge sandals from Corelli & pattern-mixed, monochrome tribal print cotton & vinyl cross-body bag from Ripcurl to carry all of my essentials.

Jewellery was eclectic & piled on just the way I like it: a vintage silver bangle that a friend sent me from India, a pair of wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms & tassels by Emmala by Emma that I picked up from the Arts & Crafts Markets on the Gold Coast in September last year & a silver "flower" brooch made from buttons that I found at a little boutique called Mahnee on the Coolangatta "shopping strip."

Disregarding the FREEZING wind for an afternoon walk around Greenmount, stopping at little places like this rotunda hidden by trees at the very top of Hill Street, Coolangatta for an impromptu photo shoot in a handblocked cotton Tree of Life muu-muu, pattern-mixed patchwork cotton jacket from the same store, comfy black Hush Puppies leather gladiator flats & a tiny, woven straw cross-body bag from Target. When it came to jewellery, I wore a silver ring from Mahnee on one hand & a vintage silver bangle & pair of wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms & tassels by Emmala by Emma on the other wrist.

Before you is the face of a shopaholic ready for a trip to Tweed City Shopping Centre for some mother/daughter holiday retail therapy... This layered look started with a funky, mirror-printed satin mini-kaftan from Charlie Brown @ Myer Pacific Fair, covered with a back mesh Yarra Trail three-quarter-sleeved cardigan & striped cotton Element snood with beaded fringing for a "boho" vibe.

As usual, black accessories "anchored" the look, this time with a "coastal" twist: a pair of leather lace-up sandals from Corelli & a vibrant, Ikat print fabric & black vinyl cross-body bag from Ripcurl at Coolangatta. Diverse jewellery was chosen with a hippie theme in mind - a chunky black resin & mother-of-pearl "Peace Sign" bracelet from the Southbank Markets, gifted trio of beaded bracelets held together with black ribbon & a moulded silver ring from Mahnee.

Any break in the cloud cover was enough of an excuse to head down to the beach to feel the sand & salt water between my toes... This time, I wore a handblocked cotton muu-muu from Tree of Life topped with a light chambray anorak from Aztec Rose & carried a pair of printed Mambo rubber thongs & tribal fabric Rusty Australia cross-body bag. My arms were stacked with a mix of bracelets & bangles including a pair of wooden beaded lovelies from Emmala by Emma, a pair of carved wooden beauties from Thousand Island Dressing & a trio of beaded monochromatic pretties that were given to me by some dear friends a few years ago. Finally, a pair of oversized Witchery (faux) tortoiseshell sunglasses shielded my eyes from the sun.

Stormy afternoon balcony hangs in a printed rayon midi-dress from Resort & Sport, Coolangatta covered with a cropped, yellow mesh cardigan (tied at the front) from Trottie Becke in Ipswich, black leather lace-up sandals from Corelli & a tiny leather ladybug bag from a stall at the Southbank Markets. For once, jewellery was relatively matchy-matchy: a long beaded Buddhist "mala" necklace - traditionally used in prayer & meditation - with red tassel, painted wooden bangle from Mahnee & beaded bracelet from The Stand Markets.
