All this hot & muggy weather reminded me that I had yet to post these pictures from a fortnight ago, when we hit the antique shops early for some more gift shopping before heading back to my brother's townhouse for a dip in the swimming pool & festive family time together putting up his very own Christmas tree...

A maximum temperature of 37 degrees meant that keeping cool was absolutely paramount & this easy breezy smock dress, purchased years ago from the now-defunct Few & Far boutique in Paddington, was the ideal choice - despite its dark hue. The stunning mix of cotton/linen fabric & pleated trapeze shape meant that air was able to circulate, keeping me comfortable... well, as comfortable as you can be on an absolute scorcher of a day... while the oversized ruffled pockets & sweet hand-painted embroidery had me feeling funky & stylish!

When it came to accessories, I kept it simple: a pair of black patent gladiator wedges from Betts for Her that allowed my poor aching feet to breathe & a matching boxy handbag from Novo to carry all of the essentials: wallet, phone, sunglasses & small bottle of water to stay hydrated. Jewellery was kept minimal - as there's nothing worse than having an armful of bangles or fingers full of rings on a sweaty Queensland day - a chunky black wooden beaded bracelet with a couple of celestial silver charms that I recently purchased from Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington. (There may be a few cheeky swimwear shots in the mix!)

About to jump in the (blessedly) cold & sparkling swimming pool in a one piece pair of togs with underwire & attached skirt detail from Autograph Fashion, black chiffon tunic with drawstring waist from Kmart, rubber thongs from Target & clear resin sunglasses from one of those little stalls that you see dotted around shopping centres in suburbia.

Joanne couldn't resist a dip either!
She wore a similar pair of togs, also from Autograph Fashion & a broderie englaise cotton button-down shirt (tied up in a knot around the waist) from Rockmans.

Lazily floating on an Aqua Duck... QUACK QUACK!

Louis' finished Christmas tree for 2015, topped with a stunning angel!
