Big Thursday

Last Thursday was CERTAINLY a big one!
Not only did I meet up with my friend Jenny for window-shopping at the newly-expanded Orion Springfield Central followed by a healthy lunch at fresh food cafe/restaurant Beach House; I also attended a Book Launch Party for Isabelle Carmody's newest fictional offering at State Library Queensland with my friend Finn, dined on (very!) spicy fare at the celebrated Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant at Southbank Parklands & immersed myself in the stunning decor for the (then upcoming) Buddha's Birthday celebrations.

Scroll down to see how this busy, busy, busy day unfolded...

For a balmy Autumn day in South East Queensland, this gorgeous duck-egg-blue & white floral textured jacquard dress from Anthea Crawford with its sculptural portrait neckline & 1950s style skirt was the ideal choice, particularly when mixed with white accessories - a pair of leather lace-up wedges from Novo & a boxy vinyl handbag from the latest sale at Colette by Colette Hayman. With regards to jewellery, it had to be this statement-making trio - a matching silver & agate (modified choker) necklace & chunky cuffs - a birthday gift from a dear friend who lives interstate.

For a cooler Autumn evening in South East Queensland, this classic mauve guipure lace dress from Anthea Crawford was perfection, especially when topped with this sumptuous vintage chiffon & velvet cape covered with sequins & embroidery in a butterfly pattern. With such busy layers, accessories were kept sculptural - a laser-cut, lace-up pair of suede sandals from Novo & a boxy black vinyl handbag from Sportsgirl. Chunky jewellery pieces completed the look - a pair of embossed bronze cuffs that a dear friend sent from over in India & a whimsical "White Rabbit" from Alice in Wonderland ring that some other darling friends gifted me for Christmas last year.
