Lately...

Scroll down to see what's been happening around here lately...

Remember, if you want to be sure you don't miss an outfit, you better start following me on Instagram!

Spending time with my sweet little Huck, who recently underwent surgery to remove a suspicious lump. Thankfully, everything went well & he got the "all clear" from the vet! In the picture above I'm wearing a rose-printed, empire-line dress from Anthea Crawford; pink mesh cropped cardigan (tied at the front for shape) from Trottie Becke in Ipswich; black matte leather, jersey & patent mules from Wittner & a silver necklace with pink dichroic glass pendant that was a present from my Grandfather many years ago.

*

Posing up a storm in the front yard wearing a retro-inspired cotton dress by Lady V London with patent cinch belt for shape (both purchased from That Shop in Coolangatta; iridescent platform brogues from Seed Heritage; black leather handbag from Wittner (ideal shape & size for carrying all manner of essentials); purple & silver hinged bangle that was gifted to me by a dear friend a few years ago now & a shiny silver bangle from Wallace Bishop to complete the look.

Now best children's t-shirts ever, clearly.

Obligatory changeroom selfie in a stunning art deco printed monochrome midi-length dress from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label; silver mesh wrap from Taking Shape's new "events" collection; white leather brogues from Wittner with matching white vinyl handbag from Forever New. Awesome lava jewellery from Gone Dotti completed the look.

Quick outfit change due to unforseen circumstances before lunch at Orion Springfield: pastel floral shantung fit-to-flare dress from Anthea Crawford with the same accessories.

Elated that one of my all-time favourite artists, writers, musicians & philosophers - Bob Dylan - was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. Anyone who has ever heard the magic that is Mr Tamborine Man (1965) can attest to his utter brilliance; I listen to his records at least once a week & cannot forsee a future where that wouldn't be the case. Loving his unique brand of alt-folk music is, in my humble opinion, a forever love.

*

Yet another changeroom selfie, this time in a printed jersey dress from a nameless boutique in Maleny; tan leather brogues from Wittner (not going to lie, I bought them in EVERY colour!)blue vinyl handbag with gold hardware from Strandbags; gold woven chunky cuff from Lovisa & handmade gold & ceramic cuff from D'Bar at Point Danger.

*

Celebrating a Springtime sunshower in a white woven fit-to-flare dress from Sincerely You (exclusive to Target stores); printed chiffon kimono with tie in gorgeous shades of mint green & royal blue from Autograph Fashion; plastic wedge heeled sandals with large faceted bead detailing from Corelli at Williams the Shoemen & a stack of green jade beaded bracelets from a variety of market stalls in China.

*

Again with the changeroom selfies! This time in a gorgeous tapestry-style printed cotton-sateen fit-to-flare with flattering portrait neckline from Anthea Crawford; silver leather brogues from Country Road; silver laser-cut leather tote from Sashenka Bags (via Trade Secret) and a litany of jewellery pieces - pearl beaded bracelets in multiple sizes from Lovisa & an androgynous, oversized silver watch from Guess.

Feeling such hope for humanity with the passing in British parliament of the Alan Turing Law, whereby men accused of "incident acts" (read: homosexuality) and forcibly chemically castrated or imprisoned have been summarily pardoned - many posthumously - including the aforementioned genius Alan Turing, who broke the "enigma" enciphering code during World War II, leading to Allied victory. It just goes to show that it is NEVER too late to right a wrongdoing.

*

Heading out for a burger & fries in a stunning scarf printed silk dress from a little store (sadly now defunct) that was once in the Kenmore Plaza Shopping Centre, rose gold metallic brogues with white treads from Wittner, white vinyl handbag with silver hardware from Forever New, rose gold & silver watch from Guess & silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop.

Who remembers these "handmade" melamine plates from the 1980s? You took the round piece of paper home, created your personalised piece of "art" & then returned it to kindy or preschool for them to send away to be covered in melamine & returned for your dining pleasure. We still use ours on a regular basis at home... surely we're not the only ones?!

Posing near my favourite wall at Orion Springfield Central in a white & blue floral satin dress with navy jersey bodice & tie belt from Anthea Crawford, silver elastic side "moon" boots from Betts for Her, blue vinyl cross-body bag with silver hardware (you know, to match the boots) from Forever New, silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & black faux pearl bangle from Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington - my favourite destination for funky jewellery pieces for a variety of price points. Just a little stylist tip for those of you who live in Brisbane!

*

Dreamy & ethereal in an "altered" dupione silk, floral crepe & organza overlay dress with high neckline & drop waist from Asos Salon, clear plastic wedge heeled sandals with beaded embellishment from Corelli at Williams the Shoemen, vintage white mesh shoulder bag from Oroton (found at a vintage stall in Chinatown, Fortitude Valley) & funky market stall handmade shell cuff with matching ring. For similar styles, try the Sunday markets at the Brisbane Botanical Gardens

We will remember them.
