Avid readers of this blog will know how much I adore vibrant colour & florid prints but sometimes, there's nothing better than donning a Little Black Dress (LBD) for the day, particularly if it's a funky silhouette or unexpected fabric choice. This gorgeous number - a black cotton tiered micro-mini smock with exaggerated puff sleeves & knitted bodice detailing from Aussie designer label Aje was the ideal choice for a recent event in my beloved River City & I was lucky enough to have my trusty photographer with me (read: my wonderful father) for some of the morning to capture a few snaps in Southbank's Cultural Precinct.

I've styled up my not-so-basic black dress with a pair of black vegan leather dual buckle heels & flesh-tone tights with black back seam & Eiffel Tower ankle stamp from vintage-inspired label Kitten D'Amour, a black velvet knot bag from Spanish boutique Swinging Chicks Shop via online emporium Etsy, a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & some sweet jewellery pieces from Pandora - a bangle with silver & onyx charms & matching heart & leaf cocktail rings - to complete the look.
